it's doesn't matter how long they've been missing, Columbia Police department Public information officer, Jennifer Timmons tells us their cases never go cold until they're resolved.

Right now, Timmons says they're still actively searching for baby Amir who has not been seen nearly two years to investigating the case of Dale Dinwiddie who has been missing for more than a decade.

Timmons says it's a breathe of fresh air to see stories like these have happy endings although she admits, it is rare. One of the reason why they ask people to report loved ones immediately. This gives them time to begin the search while the disappearance is new and leads are coming in.

Timmons says, make sure you report missing persons cases immediately, and also keep up to date photos of your loved ones so police have an accurate image of the person they are looking for.
