(WOLO) SUMTER, S.C. -- Hundreds of people packed the Lakewood high school auditorium in an effort to voice concerns over multiple allegations they claim are taking place at Sumter High School.

Parents, students and former teachers making allegations of a lack of leadership which they say has led to intimidation of teachers, school violence that led to more than a dozen arrests, and most recently an investigation by SLED into alleged violations of testing procedures.

More than 20 people signed up to speak to the school board, only 7 were picked in a lottery to speak. Others held signs in protest reading "shame on you" and "no confidence".

The school board who said they were not in a position to answer the public's questions, released a statement saying in part, "We again assure the community that we take this commitment seriously. All board members and Mr. Bynum have exerted enormous effort and made a significant time commitment in thinking about our various issues, how to effectively address them and develop a plan of action."

Monday night's meeting was continued and will be addressed during a meeting Thursday at 6pm.
