They had dedicated their lives to service, but as they were preparing to go to war, 230 aviators were killed in training accidents - their stories never told, until now.

Wednesday night, each of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, had granite markers with their names edge in stone, so their service will never be forgotten.

The Pre-Memorial day celebration comes nearly 70 years after their deaths.

A local business man, William Jones who worked nearby said he was tired of seeing the area riddled with over grown foliage and trash.

After spending time cleaning up the area, he says he discovered the location had been a training facility for many of those soldiers.

Jones says he did research and started raising money in an effort to have a new flag pole erected, and the stone markers put in place in hopes future generations will never forget the lives lost too soon.
