SC Woman Dies in Crash During Police Chase

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) _ A 34-year-old Beaufort woman has died after she was in a wreck during a police chase.

Beaufort police say Courtney Lynn Green died after her car hit a tree early Thursday.

Police say Green was being chased by Port Royal and Beaufort officers late Wednesday night. They say Green's mother on Sunday had reported that her daughter had stolen her car and debit card

Green was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy is planned at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
