Smartphone Safety

By Eric Weisfeld

(WOLO) Columbia, SC- Beware Smartphone addicts.
that *mini-computer* in your hand could make you an easy target for hackers and thieves.
But the south carolina department of consumer affairs shares these simples steps to save you a lot of trouble.
Use strong, creative passwords that aren't shared with anyone.
Keep up-to-date anti-virus software on your phone.
Disable *Bluetooth* when not in use so others can't intercept your conversations.
And make sure to erase important information and remove any s-d cards before disposing of the device.
