Some Midlands Residents Asked to Boil Water

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Some Midlands residents are having issues with their water.

The City of Columbia has issued a boil water advisory for the following areas until further notice:

-Bensmin Drive
-Dalewood Drive
-Kirkwood Drive
-Morningdale Drive
-Sandalwood Drive
-Shampy Street
-the 2800 through 2825 block of Franklin Street
-the 2600 through 2900 block of Rainbow Drive
-the 2811 through 2825 block of Wilton Road

Officials say a water main break could have caused contamination.

You're asked to boil your water at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking.
