State Immigration Laws
(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., --
During a Sunday morning talk show, State Senator Lindsey Graham said South Carolina could be closer to passing a bill on Immigration reform.
Senator Graham says lawmakers are on the verge of getting 70 votes needed to make the changes. Graham believes if the amount of votes needed are not met the Republican party could be in trouble.
Graham says his goal has always been to reconnect with the Hispanic community and pass comprehensive immigration reform. The lack of votes, according to Graham would leave GOP in trouble with Latinos.
" If it fails and we are blamed for it's failure, our party is in trouble with Hispanics, not because we're conservative but because of the rhetoric and the way we've handled the issue."
