GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Investigators say the body of a woman has been found in a burned car in southern Greenville County.

Firefighters found the body Tuesday after putting out the blaze near Honea Path.

Deputies are investigating the death as a homicide, but have released few other details.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans says it appears the car was set on fire to hide evidence. Evans says he thinks he knows who the victim is, but is awaiting further tests before making a positive identification.

He said it appears the woman died sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning.
