Oh Boy! Midlands Reacts to Royal Baby's Arrival
FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO) -- even before the world gets a good look, the royal baby has already achieved rock star status, including here in the midlands."
Diane Wells may be shopping for her grandson at The Carousel Kids Boutique ion Forest Acres, but she is just as excited about birth of another baby boy.
"I came straight home from exercise class to turn on the TV to see if the baby was here yet," said Wells. "They are such a lovely family and will be fantastic parents."
She's, of course, talking about Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Meddleton, welcoming an eight pound-six-ounce bundle of joy to the world.
From bears to booties to tea cups and the like, all eyes are on who will become the most picturesque newborn in sight.
Checking the web for updates between customers, Tamara Brewer knows a little something about birthing babies in London.
"I enjoy following the royal family; I always have, probably because my three children were born there," said Brewer. She even remembers one British tradition not popular here in the states, involving her husband.
"He falls asleep next to me because we had been waiting so long. So, the nurse comes in and asks if he would like a cup of tea. He had a cup of tea and I'm still waiting."
According to reports, we all could be waiting on a name for the lad. ABC Columbia News photojournalist, Matt Perron, has his money on 'Alexander.'
