Parker Back in Court After Medical Emergency

Suspect released from hospital, trial continues

By Monique Williams

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Brett Parker, the Midlands man accused of double murder, was present in court Friday after having been rushed by EMS to the hospital Thursday for an apparent anxiety attack.

Meanwhile, the forensics pathologist, who began detailed testimony Thursday about the gun shot wounds to Tammy Jo Parker and Bryan Capnerhurst, wrapped up his expert testimony this morning. He showed the jury X-rays of the two victims. On cross examination by defense lawyers, he maintained he did not write in his report that Bryan Capnerhurst could not have held a gun in his left due to the gunshot wound to his left arm. This is critical because a major part of the defendant's story is that Capnerhurst used his left hand to fire a gun at Tammy Jo and also aim a gun at him. But the defense attempted to show reasonable doubt because even though the expert testified in court that Capnerhurst could not have held a gun in his left hand, he did not record it in his official report, which shows negligance. Brett Parker claims he shot and killed Bryan Capnerhurst in self defense after Capnerhurst shot and killed Parker's wife, Tammy Jo.

Capnerhurst's best friend, James Morgan, also testified that Capnerhurst was in a good mood the day of the crimes, as he was going to pick up money owed to him by Brett Parker. The defense has tried to show that Capnerhurst was an angry, money-hungry gambling business associate, who went to Brett Parker's home with violent intentions.

Bryan Capnerhurst and Tammy Jo Parker were shot multiple times and killed at the Parkers' Irmo home April 13, 2012. Parker is accused of the crimes and has been behind bars without bail since June, 2012.

Wolo TV, BY FAR, is doing the most accurate and most honest reporting on this trial. I am most impressed. The other stations aren't holding a candle to their reporting on this trial.
