Shaw Pilot Dies in Crash in Afghanistan

Shaw Air Force Base, SC (WOLO)--Officials have confirmed an F-16 pilot based out of Shaw Air Force Base was killed when his plane crashed in Afghanistan April 3rd.

An Air Force spokesperson says 29 year old Captain James Steel was returning to base after a close air support mission when the accident occurred.

The crash is under investigation, and officials say more details will be released as soon as they are available.
