(WOLO) CHAPIN,S.C., --

" please fire him now" Some of the sentiments echoed by several parents and members of the community who are asking for the immediate termination of English Honors teacher, Scott Compton.

This after students in one of his classes allege during a controversial lesson he stomped on the American flag.

Parents say what Compton did was "disgraceful" and not the type of influence they want their children to be taught under.

While Compton, who was not in attendance at Monday night's meeting maintains he was trying to prove a point during the lesson, some of the parents who spoke say, as an English Teacher they can't seem to figure out what the point was.

Compton has 15 days to appeal the recommendation. If he does, the School Board will take up the issue during their next meeting, scheduled for January 28th.
