Murder Weapon Missing in Double Shooting
Father of one of victims speaks to ABC Columbia
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) -- Police say two people are dead in Sumter County, drugs are left behind at the scene and the possible murder weapon is missing. Meanwhile, the father of one of the victims says he's trying to wrap his brain around it all.
Investigators claim around 2:00 Friday morning, deputies responded to a home on Confederate Road, where Reyshaun Holmes and Willie Chatman, first cousins, were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. The mother of one of the victims said the two had been in an altercation prior to the shooting, flagged down police and told them she thought her son and nephew might be dead.
Deputies say the weapon used in the incident was not found at the scene. Because of that, they say they need your help in identifying at least one suspect. Meanwhile Ronnie Holmes, father of Reyshaun Holmes and uncle of Willle Chatman, is stunned.
"I haven't had much sleep. I can't focus. It's bad."
Investigators say it is unclear at this time what caused the altercation or who else may have been involved. If you have any information they say call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
