Columbia, SC (WOLO)--Think twice before lying on your income tax filings.

Monday the Department of Revenue announced a new security safeguard measure to help prevent fraud-related individual income tax filings.

For tax returns that are questionable, the department will mail the taxpayer a letter asking for additional information in order to complete the processing of the return.
