Sanford: Cell Phone Inundated with Calls

By News Department

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford says his cellphone has been swamped with hundreds of calls this week after House Democrats sent an email telling donors to call the number.

Sanford faces Democrat Elizabeth Colbert (KOHL'-buhrt) Busch in a special congressional election May 7.

He says the emails show he's running against House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as much as Colbert Busch.

A spokesman for the House Majority PAC, Andy Stone, says Pelosi supports the group but does not run it.

Stone says Sanford opened the door to the calls when he published his cellphone number in an ad in The Post and Courier of Charleston last weekend.

Sanford said in the ad that people could call his cell if they have questions about a Democratic attack ad.

Dear Editor:I am really sorry I did not watch the entire debate. Since I live in Columbia I was a Colbert-Busch supporter via the internet. Mind you this is the social media that helped put the President of the United States into the Whitehouse for two terms. And I hope and believe this will also be a help in putting businesswoman and front running candidate for South Carolina's 1st District into the lead and a win over former "lameduck"Governor Mark Sanford and Mr. Eugene Platt (who should really be on the stage instead of Mr. Argentina). Like I said I only saw a small portion the part with gun control. And that clinched and sewed up the debate for me. Colbert -Busch isn't against gun ownership or the 2nd Amendment but she is for gun responsibility. She was for the expanded background checks that would have prevented Alice Boland from purchasing a handgun and in numerous attempts of trying to shoot and kill school officials at Ashley Hall school. Mark Sanford voted no to the expanded

Excellent quote as in earth to Mark Sanford: "When we talk about fiscal spending and protecting the taxpayers. It doesn't mean you take that money and leave the country for a personal purpose" (in last nights debate at The Citadel broadcast by SCETV)
