SC couple donates $1.5M to WVU business school
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A member of West Virginia University's Business Hall of Fame is giving the school $1.5 million.
Doug Van Scoy and his wife Pam are graduates of the College of Business and Economics.
Doug Van Scoy says he got the skills he needed to succeed in life and in business at WVU.
He is founder and partner of Pit Partners, a South Carolina hospitality business. He's also a partner in two Morgantown restaurants.
The Van Scoys are Bridgeport natives who now live in Charleston, S.C.
Doug Van Scoy serves on the WVU Foundation Board of Directors and the business school's Hospitality & Tourism Advisory Board.
In 2010, he and business partner Michael Bodnar launched Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe in the WVU Mountainlair. All profits support WVU's hospitality and tourism program.
