SC GOP holding post-primary unity breakfast

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Republicans are rallying the party faithful as they focus on the upcoming general election.

Leaders of the state GOP are holding a unity breakfast on Wednesday in downtown Columbia. The party says elected officials, candidates and GOP leaders are expected to attend.

State party Chairman Chad Connelly is expected to speak at the event. After a trying primary election season, Connelly says the party must focus on winning the state's new 7th Congressional District and helping defeat President Barack Obama in swing states around the country.
