Tim Hill (Director)
Sports Director/Anchor, 6 and 11 PM
The first word most normal children say is “Mommy” or “Daddy.” My parents tell me my first word was "ball". Obviously, I'm not normal.
Gamecock athletics has always been a big part of my life. My father went to law school at USC and took me to my first Carolina football game when I was 3 years old. He made the mistake of letting me drink a stadium-sized Coke. I couldn’t stop talking about football that night and really haven’t shut up about sports ever since.
Watching the Gamecocks lose 21 games in a row during the last two years I attended USC couldn't keep me from getting into sports broadcasting. I was fortunate enough to get my first job as a weekend sports anchor at KRBC-TV in Abilene, TX. After three years of West Texas football I moved back to Columbia to do sports for ABC Columbia. I started my television career as an intern at FOX 8 in my hometown of High Point, NC.
By the way, it’s not all about football with me. My favorite sport depends on what season it is. I've covered the Super Bowl, bowl games, the NCAA Basketball Tournament and multiple Masters, but nothing compares to covering Gamecock baseball's back-to-back national championships at the College World Series in 2010 & 2011.
I am married to the love of my life, Teresa. Our son Joey keeps us very busy, but, whether I'm at home or at work, I consider myself a very lucky man.
