Chiefs Release DiMarco

By Sports Department

(WOLO) -- Former Gamecock Patrick DiMarco is looking for a new NFL team.

Thursday the Kansas City Chiefs cut the fullback that had moved from their practice squad into the starting lineup late last season.

The undrafted free agent was activated for the last five games of 2012. He started four of those. DiMarco did not record a single rush or catch but did help improve the Kansas City running game.

DiMarco took to Twitter Thursday afternoon.

"I would like to give a huge thanks to the Hunt family and the Chiefs organization for giving me the opportunity to play this wonderful game that I love!" DiMarco tweeted. "Thanks to all my teammates y'all are the best and I love y'all! Thanks to the Chiefs fans for all the love and support you've shown me over the last year! God has plans for me and this is just a stepping stone in overcoming adversity. Thanks again everyone and God Bless!"
