(WOLO) -- Former Lexington High School head football coach Scott Early will coach this season in the state of Florida.

Wednesday night, Early told Myrtle Beach ABC affiliate WPDE that he is the new head football coach at Seminole High School in Sanford, FL. Sanford is 30 minutes outside Orlando. Seminole played for the Florida 6A football state championship in 2008.

Early left Lexington this past spring after winning just three games in his third season in charge of the Wildcats. Early, with the help of high school All-American and current Gamecock wide receiver Shaq Roland, led Lexington to 11-win seasons in each of his first two years.

Early came to Lexington after one season at Chapin High School. Before Chapin, Early won a state championship in 2008 at Myrtle Beach High School with former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson.
