Gamecocks Beat USC Upstate 12-3


Columbia, S.C. --Fifth ranked South Carolina wins 12-3 over USC Upstate on Tuesday night in non-conference action at Carolina Stadium.
South Carolina improves to 14-2 on the year while the loss drops USC Upstate to 10-5. 

Freshman left-hander Wynkoop pitched 2.2 innings of relief, earning the win and improving to 3-0 on the year. Wynkoop allowed one run on four hits with one walk and struck out one batter. Senior right-hander Patrick Sullivan pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief earning his first save of the year. Sullivan allowed three hits, with one walk and three strikeouts.
USC Upstate starting pitcher Chris Cox suffered the loss and is now 1-2 on the year.  He worked two innings and allowed three runs on six hits with three walks. 

South Carolina will be back in action Wednesday night hosting Davidson.
First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Carolina Stadium.
