(WOLO) -- Spring Valley High School pitcher Taylor Guerrieri and USC star centerfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. will both have to decide whether to turn pro or play for the Gamecocks next season. It's a good problem to have.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected Guerrieri with the 24th overall pick in Monday night's first round of the Major League Amateur Player Draft. The North Augusta transfer has committed to play his college baseball for South Carolina. The right-handed power pitcher will likely be offered a 7-digit signing bonus to forego college and go straight to professional baseball.

The Boston Red Sox selected Bradley with the 40th overall pick in Monday night's compensation round. Last year's College World Series Most Outstanding Player was projected in the top 15, but likely slid because of a wrist injury that recently required surgery, his third surgery in as many years.
