Hartsville's Shaw Commits To Gamecocks
(WOLO) -- Frank Martin has picked up another commitment from an in-state guard who led his team to a state championship.
Friday, Hartsville point guard Jaylen Shaw committed to play his college basketball for the Gamecocks. He picked USC over Clemson, Virginia Tech and Tulane.
Shaw originally verbally committed to play for former USC assistant coach Scott Cherry at High Point University. But after leading Hartsville to its second straight class 3A state championship and recently earning MVP honors in the Carolinas All-Star Classic in Myrtle Beach and the City vs. State All-Star game in Columbia Shaw attracted offers for major Division I programs.
The 6'1 Shaw averaged 24 points and 8 assists per game for Hartsville during his senior season.
