McGirt Tied For First Round Lead At Heritage

(WOLO) -- Former Wofford golfer Williams McGirt is part of a three-way tie for the lead after the first round at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head. McGirt, who lives in Boiling Springs, S.C., shot five under Thursday at Harbour Town.

Matt Kuchar and Scott Langley go into Friday tied with McGirt for the lead.

Former Clemson standouts Ben Martin and Lucas Glover are part of a 14-way tie for fifth place after shooting two under Thursday.

Former Tiger Jonathan Byrd and former Gamecock Mark Anderson shot even par in the first round and are tied for 36th.

Upstate native Bill Haas and Camden resident Tommy Gainey shot one over Thursday and are tied for 55th.

Former Clemson standout Kyle Stanley is next to last after struggling to shoot six over Thursday.
