COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- USC baseball will be looking for a new unofficial mascot next season. Reptar the Fish is dead.

L.B. Dantzler broke the news about his pet on Twitter. "Well everyone, on July 11, 2012, Reptar moved on to a better place! He was a great fish and helped us have a very memorable season! I'll always remember the little guy, he's was a great fish! Don't think about his death, celebrate his life and all the great things associated with him! #RIPreptar and #FearTheFish.. P.S: Be on the lookout for a Reptar II"
