Roth Signs With Angels

(WOLO) -- Michael Roth is officially a professional baseball player. The Gamecock ace sent out word via Twitter late Monday night. "Just signed my first contract (hopefully of many to come)! I'm officially an Angel!"

Roth will go down as one of the best pitchers in USC school history. He led the Gamecocks to three straight appearances in the national championship series and holds College World Series records for most starts (8) and innings pitched (60.1).

Roth was also the winner of the 2012 SEC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award and earned a degree in international business.
