(WOLO ) -- Former Gamecock and Houston Texans rookie safety D.J. Swearinger said he enjoyed trash-talking in college and will continue his ways in the NFL.

“That’s who I am. I’m a strong leader, a strong intensity guy who’s going to give 130 percent on every play. I’ll be live on the field. I’m a guy that always talks but who backs it up at the same time," the Texans' second-round draft pick said.

Swearinger is expected to get plenty of chances to trash-talk on the field this year with Houston.

He worked with the first-team defense Friday morning at the Texans' training camp and is expected to get a lot of playing time as a rookie.
