(WOLO) -- Clemson running back Andre Ellington injured his hamstring and is expected to miss Senior Bowl practices the rest of the week and the all-star game Saturday in Mobile, AL.

USC defensive back D.J. Swearinger is also sitting out the Senior Bowl with a bad hamstring.

Ellington, who dealt with injuries throughout his college career, had hoped to improve his NFL Draft stock with impressive workouts in front of a lot of professional personnel. He entered the week ranked in the top ten running backs in the draft and was projected to get drafted as high as the second round.

The 5-9, 192 pound Ellington ran for 3436 career yards and 33 touchdowns at Clemson.
