COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson forward Jaron Blossomgame has undergone additional surgery on his left leg that he believes will get him to the court quicker next fall.

The school said the 6-foot-7 Blossomgame had his second surgery on the leg Tuesday. He first fractured it in April 2012 during a workout in high school and did not play for the Tigers last season.

Blossomgame said in a statement the additional surgery was designed to jump-start the healing process. He expects to start shooting and running by the end of August.

Blossomgame was Clemson's highest-rated signee in 2012, averaging 25 points a game as a senior at Chattahoochee High School in John's Creek, Ga. The latest operation means Blossomgame will miss the team's trip to Italy for four games in August.
