Clemson Baseball Ranked No. 21 In Preseason Poll

Clemson, SC (CU SID) -- Clemson is ranked #21 in Collegiate Baseball’s 2014 preseason poll, released on Friday. Cal State Fullerton is atop the Collegiate Baseball poll, followed by #2 Mississippi State, #3 Louisiana State, #4 Oregon State, and #5 Florida State.

Along with Clemson and Florida State, other ACC teams ranked in the top 25 include #10 N.C. State, #11 North Carolina, #12 Virginia, and #13 Miami (FL), meaning six of the top-21 teams are from the ACC. No other conference has more than fifve teams ranked in the top 21 of the preseason poll.

The Tigers had a 40-22 overall record and 18-12 ACC regular-season mark in 2013. Clemson returns 23 lettermen, including preseason All-American Daniel Gossett (RHP). The Tigers will open the 2014 season on February 14 against Eastern Michigan at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
