Hopkins Continues To Break Clemson Records
CLEMSON, S.C. (WOLO) -- DeAndre "Nuk" Hopkins continues to write himself into the Clemson record books.
Through the Tigers first nine games of the season, Hopkins has 62 receptions for 1,037 yards and 13 touchdowns.
At Duke last weekend, Hopkins became Clemson's career leader in touchdown catches and broke the season mark. Hopkins had three touchdowns in Clemson's 56-20 domination at Duke.
"He is a great competitor," said Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney. "He just loves it; loves to play, loves to practice, loves to catch the ball, loves to just win. He's a team guy, he's very unselfish. He doesn't say a whole lot, but he just has a ton of confidence."
Hopkins needs just 82 yards to break the record for receiving yards. Aaron Kelly currently holds that record with 2,733 from 2005-2008. Hopkins has 2,652 right now.
Clemson hosts Maryland Saturday in Death Valley at 3:30PM.
