Coastal Carolina may have shot at FCS playoffs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Coastal Carolina may know whether it is playing Saturday for a berth in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs by the time it kicks off against Charleston Southern.

Liberty at VMI starts two hours before the Chanticleers. If the Flames win, then Coastal Carolina can get a share of the Big South Conference title and the league's automatic bid by beating the Buccaneers.

The Citadel plays Furman on Saturday, and the Bulldogs could get to seven wins and help out their playoff hopes with a victory.

Wofford also is a likely FCS playoff team. The Terriers play Football Bowl Subdivision team South Carolina.

In other games Saturday involving South Carolina's FCS teams, Presbyterian is at Gardner-Webb and South Carolina State hosts Savannah State.
