COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Frank Martin will have a brand new roster when South Carolina's men's basketball team takes the floor next fall.

Martin said Eric Smith, RJ Slawson, Brian Richardson and Damien Leonard have asked for their release and would not return to the team. He also announced three additional signees, meaning the Gamecocks will have at least seven new faces on the bench when the season tip's off.

Martin took over the Gamecocks after the 2011-12 season and went 14-18, his first losing season as a college coach. South Carolina was just 4-14 in the Southeastern Conference and lost 11 of their final 13 games.

Joining the Gamecocks will be 6-foot-8 Demetrius Henry, 6-2 Duane Notice and 6-foot-6 Reggie Theus Jr., the son of former NBA player and coach Reggie Theus.
