South Carolina QB Shaw healthy again
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw says he's close to 100 percent from offseason foo surgery and felt so good he squeezed in a little skydiving between Gamecock workouts.
He went on a tandem jump last week and called it the thrill of a lifetime. Shaw hopes to give Gamecock fans plenty of thrills this season as South Carolina's starter.
Shaw suffered through several injuries last season, the worst coming when he injured his left foot on the final play against Tennessee last October. He had surgery after the Gamecocks finished an 11-2 season.
Shaw sat out spring drills and wasn't able to work out full throttle until May. He says he won't let the injury affect his game. Shaw threw for 17 touchdowns and ran for three more last fall.
