Britt transferring to NC State

South Carolina pitcher Curt Britt has decided to transfer to N.C. State.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound right-hander announced his decision to transfer on his Twitter account Wednesday.

“So thankful for my past 2 years at USC, I will always love Gamecock Nation! I am excited for this new journey in Raleigh! Go Pack!”

Britt is moving to his home state following the death of his father.

In his two seasons with the Gamecocks, Britt owned a 5-0 record with one save and a 3.61 ERA.

He made 19 appearances, including four starts, although he did not pitch in the NCAA tournament after his father’s death.

Chad Holbrook told that Britt will receive a hardship waiver so he will not have a sit out a year under NCAA transfer rules.
