BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Logan Thomas isn't normally a player who walks around with a chip on his shoulder.

The Virginia Tech quarterback says he will keep one handy this week while preparing for the Hokies' game at No. 13 Clemson on Saturday. That's because the Tigers manhandled Virginia Tech twice last season.

The Hokies (4-3, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) are coming off their strongest showing of the season, a 41-20 victory against Duke. It came just in time as they head into a rough stretch of conference play.

Clemson (5-1, 2-1) beat the Hokies 23-3 and 38-10 last season, the latter in the ACC title game, and is a powerhouse again this season. The Tigers are averaging more than 41 points a game this season, which ranks 11th nationally.
