Gamecocks Weekend Recap

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- The men's and women's basketball teams both played at Colonial Life Arena this past weekend. The men fell to Georgia 67-56 on Saturday and the women defeated Auburn 59-51 on Sunday. Here is a quick look back at those games.

The men's team had a 30-29 lead at half and Michael Carrera had 15 points. The Bulldogs then outscored the Gamecocks 38-26 in the second half and Carrera was held to only one point in that final 20 minute span to finish with 16 points.

Bruce Elington added 14 points and Brian Richardson had another 12 for the Gamecocks.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope lead the Bulldogs with 19 points.

The women's team used free throws at the end of the game to hold off a second half Tiger surge. Freshman guard Khadijah Sessions had a career high 19 points.

Tiffany Mitchell and Aleighsa Welch each added to 10 points to help the Gamecocks down the Tigers.
