Jackie Bradley Jr. Makes Red Sox Roster

(WOLO) -- Former Gamecock Jackie Bradley Jr. has made the Boston Red Sox' Opening Day roster and will be the team's Opening Day left fielder.

The Red Sox purchased Bradley Jr.'s contract from Double-A Portland.

The 22-year-old has had an excellent spring batting .419/.507/.613 with four doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI in 28 games in the Grapefruit League.

He will start in left field when the Red Sox face the Yankees on Monday in New York.

Bradley Jr. was the 2010 College World Series Most Outstanding Player.
