Merrifield Helps Friend With Cancer

TAMPA (WOLO) -- Former Gamecock baseball player Whit Merrifield is best known for his walk-off national championship winning hit in Omaha in 2010.

Merrifield is helping dreams come true off the field, too. The current Kansas City Royals minor leaguer recently helped raise money to pay for an Outback Bowl trip for his friend Josh Rominger. Josh was diagnosed with cancer last year.
