SEC champion Alabama-Notre Dame in BCS title game
UNDATED (AP) -- The national championship game is set and it's a dandy--top-ranked Notre Dame against No. 2 Alabama.
The Crimson Tide captured a thrilling Southeastern Conference championship game by rallying to beat No. 3 Georgia 32-28. AJ McCarron tossed a 45-yard TD pass to Amari Cooper with 3:15 left. The Bulldogs marched to the Alabama 4-yard line when the clock ran out.
The Crimson Tide trailed 21-10 after Alec Ogletree returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown in the third quarter. Alabama ran for an SEC title game record 350 yards. Eddie Lacy ran for 181 yards and two TDs. T.J. Yeldon carried 25 times for 153 yards and one score.
Both teams played like champions, but only the Tide is moving on to face the top-ranked Fighting Irish on Jan. 7 in Miami.
