Spurrier, Hoke Kick Off Outback Bowl

By Sports Department

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Steve Spurrier and Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke were in Tampa Bay to kick off the Outback Bowl festivities on Thursday. Both coaches were there for the contract signing party.

The Head Ball Coach makes his 2nd appearance in the Outback Bowl as the Gamecocks coach. The first was in 2009, when USC fell 31-10 against Iowa.

"This year, we come in with some momentum, we've won our last four, went 10-2 and so forth," said Spurrier Thursday.

This will be Spurrier's first meeting ever against Michigan.

"I think it's going to be a heck of a game, and I know both sides are really looking forward to it."

Kickoff between the Gamecocks and Wolverines is set for 1pm on January 1, 2013.
