(WOLO) -- Ryan Succop is back in South Carolina for the summer--the three or four weeks he gets of an offseason anyway. The former Gamecock and current Kansas City Chiefs kicker and his wife recently moved to Daniel Island. Succop says he spends a lot of his down time playing golf and fishing in the Lowcountry. He also works out at the College of Charleston soccer field. Since the field doesn't have uprights, Succop kicks between an even narrower target, the posts that hold up the field's net. "My goal is aim small, miss small," Succop said. While Succop has proven himself as a kicker in his solid 4-year NFL career, the Chiefs have struggled. He hopes that will change this year with former Eagles coach Andy Reid taking over in Kansas City. "We're really excited about what Andy Reid has brought to Kansas City," Succop said. "We're really fired up. We had a great spring this year." And the former Gamecock is also fired up about his alma mater's back-to-back 11 win seasons. "It's been awesome. Carolina has just given us a lot to be proud of. Obviously, Coach Spurrier and all the players up there are just doing a great job." "It's been kind of fun for me because in Kansas City we actually have a lot of SEC guys on the team, and it's really nice when those guys are wearing Carolina gear, shorts, hat, shirt, everything after we beat them every week."
