Swearinger Signs With Texans

(WOLO) -- The Houston Texans have signed former Gamecock and rookie safety D.J. Swearinger to contract.

According to reports, Swearinger's 4-year contract is worth $3.49 million, with $1.315 million guaranteed.

Swearinger, who was taken in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, is competing for playing time to fill spots left by Glover Quin (now with the Detroit Lions) and Ed Reed, who is still recovering from hip surgery.
