Sanders Seeks Help, Facing 4-Game Suspension

Former Gamecock and current Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Ace Sanders said Tuesday he is facing a four-game suspension and won’t be around for the majority of training camp. Sanders held a conference call with reporters to disclose his looming punishment. South Carolina men's basketball kicked off its "8K In 8 Days" campaign on Tuesday when third-year head coach Frank Martin released the non-conference schedule for the 2014-15 season. The slate features 13 contests, including eight home games, which includes one exhibition (to be announced at a later date). Spurrier Finishes Celebrity Tourney Strong

When preseason practice starts for the Gamecocks soon, Steve Spurrier can put away his golf clubs a satisfied man. Spurrier finished the celebrity American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, NV Sunday with a solid round of 82. The Ball Coach made his final putt from about 30 feet for his third birdie of the day. Staley Hosts Celebrity Softball Game

In the First Annual Innersole Celebrity Softball Fun-Raiser, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley and her charity hosted an entertaining event for both players and fans at Carolina Softball Stadium Saturday night. Staley’s team picked up the 11-5 win in regulation, but South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner’s squad rallied for eight runs in the “extra” eighth inning for a 13-12 final.
