COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- For the third straight season, Gamecock baseball fans saw their team off to Omaha and the College World Series.

Hundreds of USC fans gathered at Carolina Stadium Wednesday morning before the Gamecocks boarded a bus to the airport.

USC Head Baseball Coach Ray Tanner and senior pitcher Michael Roth addressed the crowd.

"In a little while we're going to get on that plane and go back to Omaha," Tanner said. "You can rest assured, no matter what happens, we're going to do our very best to represent you with class and dignity and competitive nature like nobody else. And maybe, maybe the sun will shine on us and maybe we can just bring back another piece of hardware."
