Looking Ahead to Wofford
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- The 9th (BCS) ranked Gamecocks will host the Wofford Terriers this Saturday November 17th at 1 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium. Here is a quick look at the match-up ahead.
The Gamecocks are coming off a 38-20 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, giving them a record of 8-2 (6-2 in the SEC). Connor Shaw threw for 272 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 of 22 passing attempts. Freshman tail back Mike Davis had 53 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and senior Kenny Miles added 37 yards on 14 carries.
USC currently ranks 63rd in Passing Yards and 82nd in Rushing Yards at 232.2 and 141.0 yards per game respectively; while ranking 41st in Points For at 32.6 points per game according to ESPN. Which also has the defense ranked at 19th nationally for Points Against at 18.5 points a game.
The Terriers are coming off a 16-13 win against Chattanooga. Sophomore quarterback James Lawson only attempted five passes, completing four for 29 yards. Senior running back Eric Breitenstein ran for 132 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. The Terriers run the triple option and are 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the FCS Southern Conference.
