Manziel: "I'm Not Afraid Of Clowney"
HOOVER, AL (WOLO) -- 2012 Heisman winner and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has responded to Jadeveon Clowney's comments made Tuesday at SEC Media Days.
On Tuesday the Gamecock defensive end was asked if he could catch the speedy quarterback.
"Yes, I can get him. Does Johnny think he can get away? That's the question. No, I'm just playing. How would I approach him? Full speed. He's got to make a move. I'm going straight, and I'm going to make him make a move. I'm going to try to hit him in the mouth. He's tough, but you got to come at him full speed and play straight ahead. That's how you have to approach him."
Clowney also listed many high-profile quarterbacks he believes are scared of him.
Manziel was not on the list, largely due to the fact the two have never played against each other.
On Wednesday, Manziel responded to Clowney's comments.
"I'm not one of those quarterbacks that is intimidated or scared of Jadeveon Clowney. I would love to play him. He's an absolute freak of an athlete, but I'm very confident in my abilities to beat him (in a race)," said Manziel.
The Aggies and the Gamecocks don't play in the 2013 regular season, but the two could meet in Atlanta at the SEC Championship.
