Martin Happy With "Fight" Of The Gamecocks

By Sports Department

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Frank Martin's squad overcame a 2nd half 17-point deficit to Wisconsin-Milwaukee en route to an overtime win in the coach's debut at South Carolina.

"I'll say this," said Martin. "I've been on teams that have come back from 15, 16, 17, 20 point deficits once, I don't think I've ever been on a team that has come back from that deficit twice in a game."

The Gamecocks fought their way back to win their season opener last Sunday, 82-75.

"It shows a lot about the resolve of the kids and their fight and their willingness to succeed," said Martin.

USC returns to the hardwood Friday, November 16 against Morgan State. Tip off is set for 7pm.
