Shaw To Have Foot Surgery, Will Miss Spring

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- USC starting quarterback Connor Shaw will have surgery on his left foot Friday and is expected to miss the entire spring.

Shaw, who sprained his foot against Tennessee October 27th, threw for 224 yards and 2 TDs in USC's 33-28 Outback Bowl win over Michigan. The rising senior also led the Gamecocks in rushing with 96 yards on 10 carries. He limped to the sidelines several times in the game and missed the final seconds. Back-up quarterback Dylan Thompson came in to throw a game-winning 32-yard TD pass to Bruce Ellington with :11 left.

Shaw finished the 2012 season as USC's top passer and 2nd leading rusher behind only Marcus Lattimore.

Shaw started 11 of 13 games. He completed 154 of 228 passes (67.5%) for 1965 yards (177.8 yards per game). He had 17 TD passes and 7 interceptions. Shaw ran the ball 131 times for 435 yards (39.5 yards per game) and 3 TDs.
