COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Oklahoma coach Sunny Golloway's message to his team for the NCAA super regional series against South Carolina is simple: The Sooners have beaten the two-time defending national champions before and they can do it again.

Oklahoma (42-23) was the last team to defeat South Carolina (43-17) at the 2010 College World Series before the Gamecocks began a run of 19 straight NCAA tournament victories. Golloway stirred up some fire among Gamecock fans when he mentioned that victory after the Sooners advanced to the best-of-three series that starts Saturday at Carolina Stadium.

Golloway said Friday he's just showing belief in his team, which has played its best when its back was against the wall. The Sooners had to win four straight after losing the opener to take the Charlottesville Regional.
